Disciple Oaks
Retreat Center –
250 acre facility
jointly owned by Blue Bonnet Area and Coastal Plains
Area of the Christian Church. Summer camps, retreats,
workshops and rallies are the main focus of this
beautiful facility. The Lodge with semi-private rooms
will house over 60, while the dorms at the activity
center will house over 150. Private lake, walking
trails, sports courts and even a RV park make this a
favorite of those who like to connect with God in the
outdoors.

Walk to Emmaus
– Coastal Bend Emmaus
Community (CBEC) sponsors many men's and women's Walks a
year, as well as several Chrysalis Flights for youth and
young adults. The Walk to Emmaus is an ecumenical
movement under the direction of The Upper Room, with a
purpose of developing lay leadership for the local
church. If your
spiritual life is in need of a boost, then the Walk to
Emmaus may be just the answer. The Walk is a seventy-two
hour experience of singing, worshiping, praying and
participating in small groups where you will experience
the love and grace of God through acts of service and
prayer offered by a vital and loving support community.

Charlie’s Place – Alcohol and drug rehabilitation
center provides comprehensive rehabilitation services
and case management for individuals diagnosed as being
alcohol/drug abusers or chemically addicted. Services

serves the Coastal Bend community by providing

The South Texas School
of Christian Studies
- SCS is best described as a "host" institution for
